First time I’ve seen this beer since joining RB. Had it many years ago and loved it. It’s still excellent but falls a few points short of my marking of the bottled version. I should revisit that beer to see what I’d score it now, but my comments suggest I did enjoy that more than this. Having said that this is still lovely. It’s almost black with fruits roasted malts and smokiness on the aroma. The taste has all those attributes also together with some fish oil and caramel. A long complex finish. Very tasty and proof that Fullers can produce good stuff if they try hard enough.Score 4.0 Subsequent rating scored 3.8. Onto the big guns now...salty, creamy cocoa-heavy Baltic-like complexity, brine, powdery chocolate and roast. Aroma red vinous and chocolatey. Lovely balance of creamy/charred notes, and BOVRIL. The character of a Baltic porter/imperial stout several % stronger (Pardubický Porter?) Big, serious, dangerous beer. DougShoemaker (2856), Toronto, Canada
