Sammy (3075), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 5, 2004 Top Pick Porter. Looks, smells and tastes like a chocolate liquor, although a bit bitter, with some coffee. My daughters were almost tempted to try it. A rich taste, aroma and colour - worth every penny. The bottle suggests after a meal, but I was most pleased with it before one.
IlanMan (534), Winona, Minnesota, USA Sep 6, 2008 16 oz. can: Pour is clear dark with a creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, sweet brown sugar, and a little cream. Has a very creamy mouth feel. Low carbonation. Flavors include a full roasted barley, lightly sweet chocolate malt, light cream. Damn fine brew. Full flavored and smooth. Would buy again. daniele (763), Italy Sep 6, 2008 scura buona schiuma mediamente persistente note tostate cioccolto leggero dicetile in bocca cioccolato in prevalenza ma altri sentori tostati e yn finale piacevolmente luppololato abbastanza secca donfardz64 (75), Wellington, New Zealand Sep 4, 2008 On tap. Poured black with ruby edges, off white head, fully diminishing. Aromas of chocolate, burnt malt, cinnamon. Flavour is initially sweet, and some hops come through. Finishes quite bitter. Sweeter for a porter but nicely hopped and well blended flavours. kelsmj (10), , Indiana, USA Sep 1, 2008 Nice Creamy Porter. Very Dark Pour. Medium Head. Roasty malts. Dark Coffee with heavy cream taste. Very drinkable porter. I think this would go very well with food that is sweet. Would be a good base in a long cook dish or a braise. bluevegie (1742), Perth, Australia Sep 1, 2008 Deep dark red body, almost black, with an almost lasting off-white head. Flat coffee taste that is quite drinkable, smokey notes and thin cocoa. What I expect from a porter and it delivered.
