Beerman6686 (1259), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 24, 2008 Poured an amber color with an off white head. Aroma was biscuty and caramel. Flavor was much the same, nothing special here. BLAH taalhiker (179), Dayton, Ohio, USA Sep 23, 2008 From bottle. Part of May beer tasting event.
Pours copper with small head.
Aroma has light hops. tasty is maltier than expected. Decent option if the choices are limited.
Slipstream (734), USA Sep 15, 2008 Updated: Sep 10, 2009On tap at Drop Off Service in New York City, it tasted weak and watered down. But I purchased a bottle and gave it another try - this time it rates higher. It looks great: an amber pour with a nice, lazy head and lace. The hefty bottle is decorated with a simple, but attractive label. Soft mouthfeel and mild, dry English hops. Pleasant flavor with a little astringency and a hint of lemon zest. It is a little on the light side, but this is still a gold standard English bitter. tgncc (796), Bellmore, New York, USA Sep 12, 2008 Pleasant aroma of carmelized malts, slight hoppyness. THe appearance is a cvlear orange, white head. Flavor is of caramel malts, and a slight hop bite. The finish is appropriately bitter, with a nice lingering hop signature. Not bad, like a weaker cousin of Bass Ale. Swalden28 (1439), McKinney, Texas, USA Sep 9, 2008 16 ounce can from Kegs & Barrels in McKinney, TX. Pours a very nice looking amber with off-white head. Nice aroma of caramelized malt with nicely balanced hop. Flavor has a pleasing malty backbone with nice hop flavor with slight bitter. Im going to say this is a Co2 and nitro combination, low-medium carbonation with creamy mouthfeel, threw me off at first, wasn’t expecting that.....smooth....Overall, this is a enjoyable beer.... ErikTheViking (76), Oslo, Norway Sep 6, 2008 Updated: Jul 12, 200930 Aug 08: Not really special in any way, just taste good. Very "british". Re-tasted Rude Strand 12 July 2009. Reconfirmed. zappafan99 (462), South Carolina, USA Sep 4, 2008 Taste 9/8 Bottle(Best by 6/9) Looks: Lively clear copper bottom. One finger white top. Aroma: Nice roast and caramel blended with sour yeast. Good aroma. Taste: Nice, complex and smooth. Very balanced and has a good long finish. I really like this beer.
