Bottle, pours a darker copper amber color than the cask version. Compact, creamy tan head. Toffee and caramel malt sweetness in the aroma but the flavor introduces more of the hop bitterness that you expect. Excellent balance between the malt and hops. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel with a great flavour.

500ml brown bottle obtained at McKinnon’s in Salem, NH. Pours a translucent amber-golden body with a half inch of short-lived off-white head. Caramel and toffee malts with a touch of butter in the aroma. Caramel, butter, toffee, touches of chocolate and coffee, with a fair bit of minty herbal English hops. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Moderately drinkable, mostly due to the flavors not quite meshing the way I’d like, particularly the butter, and I’m thinking this may not be the freshest sample. Having said that, it’s still a relatively decent English pale ale...

Mild hoppy and fruity aroma with a similar taste. A good beer, but the cask version is much better

500 ml bottle. Finland. Light copper colour with small off-white head. Some caramel and hoppy bitterness in aroma. Refreshingly hoppy flavour with some caramel. Nicely balanced. A classic Ale. Excellent!

A golden brown beer with little head. Aroma was sweet. Taste was sweet, caramel & slightly bready. Is there hops in here?

Bottle @ Metro. Re-rate. Much better bottle this time around. Golden pour with a moderate white head, medium retention. Aroma is mild sweet malts. Taste is very hoppy, with an herbal sweetness lingering into the bitter finish. Not bad at all.
