pint bottle, poured with just a bit of head and a really nice golden color. Appreciated the smells of caramel and hops. THe flavor was just sweet enough to complement the excellent bitterness. This is one beer that definitely qualifies as a classic and actually deserves the title Outstanding Premium Ale.

Sweet malty aroma. Roasted, caramel malt flavor but not too sweet. Hops are definately there but not too strong. Nicely balanced.

Bottle. Nice, mellow hoppy aroma. Light foamy head. Nice malt flavor, hops start off strong and then fall flat. Overall, kind of like a combination of shredded wheat and sweaty gym sock. Disappointing. I can see the appeal, but this one isn’t for me.

Aroma: Malty, brown sugar and caramel.
Appearance: Poured an amber color with a small off white head which quickly dissipated.
Flavor: Sweet and malty with very little hop presence.
Palate: Thin mouthfeel with adequate carbonation and a sweet finish.
Overall: This tastes like it would be the Budweiser of Great Britain. I didn’t taste much hoppiness, just a lot of sweetness, just like Bud, only not nearly as bad.

0.5l bottle brought from England by a friend (thanks Ivana!)
Enjoying the irony of drinking this on the night Croatia kicked England out of the Euro 2008.
This poured an amber/orange colour (close to bronze) with a small to medium sized slightly off-white head that disappeared fast. Mild but pleasant nose... caramel and herbal-flowery hops. The taste is somewhat mild and pleasant as well... Sweetish (a bit caramel and just a tad roasty) light malty-earthy taste nicely balanced by some agrumey lightly bitter hops. Soft mouthfeel, light hoppy, bit metallic aftertaste. This’d make a very good everyday beer, but man... it could really use some body in my opinion.

Pours clear amber with a small white head that dissappers. Flowery hop and medium malt aroma. Flavor of slight sweetness, light fruit, and a wierd bitterness I can’t quite get into. Would love to try this fresher.
