glennmastrange (807), hobe sound, Florida, USA Sep 9, 2007 Tap, from a yard glass. Malt has a moderate light bread note, hops of herbs, and yeast of dough with toffee in the background. Head is creamy white, fully lasting with excellent lacing. Color is a clear light brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic then finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, dry/watery with soft carbonation and ends on a slight astringent note. A good beer to do in a large quantity like say, out of a yard glass. cheapdark (2011), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 8, 2007 Smells strong and a little volatile sweet. Like some ol’ malt liquor or beer with whiskey in it. Color is darker and browner than the ubiquitous pale yellow american beer quite brown but it is certainly very clear! Taste is strongish too, like clean and clear alcohol. Everything about this beer is clean, clear and crisp. It’s british, with a stiff upper lip. Even the malty alky bitter bite is clean and clear. What we have here is a beer that is creamy in carbonation and bold. Very difficult on the medicinal finish. A little too much for my girlie taste buds. Comes across like whiskey at times. wheninhell (485), louisville, Kentucky, USA Sep 6, 2007 beautiful beer. clear orange amber with a great tight white head that lasts forever and leaves some great lacing. aroma caramel hay light orange...quite nice. sweet orange with a light tartness bitter caramel backbone with a very nice balanced grapefruity slightly funky hop bitterness...a little pine perhaps. bitter dry grapefruit hop finish with some bittersweet tart orange and caramel notes. light to medium body. moderate carbonation. classic. Soonah (900), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Sep 6, 2007 Poured a clear, thin brown color with a quickly dissipating, one-finger tall white head. Minimal lacing. The aroma was dominated by malt with some floral hops managing to squeak out. The flavor was malt, metallic and caramel. Very little hop presence. The finish is benign and the mouthfeel is the solid construct you’d expect from Fullers. Nice, just not as good as the ESB. rugbydude05 (280), Kew Gardens, New York, USA Sep 5, 2007 Overall good beer. Not outstanding but very solid and not overwhelming to drink. Pours a clear amber color, no head, and sites very well on the palate. Good rich taste and no bitter aftertaste. I dont consider it a bitter but rather a good tasty ale. davegore (200), liverpool, Merseyside, England Sep 4, 2007 Bottle, available all over the place. Pours a fantastic amber, white head, not fluffy but firm. Caramel and sweet malt in the aroma. Caramel and some toffee sweetness, nice dry finish, very classy beer kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 12/22/1995

clear dark amber, wispy white head, sweet caramel aroma with a hint of fruit and very light floral hops, lots of tempered bitter flavor, enough dark caramel character to provide balance and add a touch of sweetness, slight hint of butterscotch enhances the sweetness, long bitter finish,

Ingy (100), candler, North Carolina, USA Aug 30, 2007 Bottle. Deep golden color, moderately carbonated, medium head. Some bread and citrus in the aroma. Goes down easy! Nice balance of malt and hops. I liked it better on tap in Europe, but still a bottle I’d buy again. Classic.
