Juancho (225), Clearwater Beach, Georgia, USA Jan 20, 2007 on tap. Competent if uninspiring. It’s a macro brewed english beer, ok. I had this in London as a cure for my jetlag (which is a great way to get rid of jetlag mid-way through yourfirst day in London). It was pleasant and that’s about all i can say. hayduke (1616), Eureka, California, USA Jan 19, 2007 Bottle from North Coast Coop in Eureka, CA. Poured a beautiful clear copper color wtih a medium white head that left good lacing. Nose of caramel and malts, with hops apparent. Mouthfeel very rich and flavor is malts and it has a fruty and bittter finish. A very nice brew. FirkinHopHead (26), Munster, Indiana, USA Jan 17, 2007 On tap at The Firkin & Fox, Glen Ellyn, IL. A nice session ale. An English Bitter, but not so hoppy by American standards. A good balance of caramelly malts and bittering hops. Light to medium body makes for easy drinking. A good choice when I’m in the mood for more than a few but still want a decent brew. AgentGobshite (25), peachland, British Columbia, Canada Jan 15, 2007 Yet another good English, reminds me of ESB by the same company. My only problem with Fuller’s is the richness in their beers diminishes drinkability, whereas Bass or Pedigree can be swallowed again the morning after the hard night before RedHaze (370), Where the hell am I?, Nebraska, USA Jan 14, 2007 Pours a clear coppery color with a quarter inch head that falls quickly to a thin, spotty cap and ring that leaves behind a tattered bit of lace.
Smell; bread dough, sweet malty caramel and a bit of hops are present as well. There’s also a little bit of a fruity undertone in there.
Taste; slightly bitter and floral hops, bread dough and caramel malts with a bit of a sweet fruitiness in the finish. There’s a bit of a buttery quality that makes me knock this down a notch. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, and pretty easy to drink. MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Jan 13, 2007 Bottle, 4.7%. Weak fruity, dusty and malty aroma. Clear copper colour, small white head. The flavour starts off caramelly and malty, and turns bitter rather quickly. The bitterness is uncompromising, but not rough. TheEnemy (422), Chicago, USA Jan 7, 2007 On tap. Pours a crystal-clear auburn-amber. Creamy off-white head settles to a wisp and a ring, leaving webby lacing on the sides of the glass. Brit-hop aroma with some carmel malt sweetness in the nose. Flavor is a burst of crisp, almost pilsner-like hop bitterness up front. Fruity hop elements and a nce warming caramel malt show as it warms. Medium-thick palate with a long, hoppy aftertaste. Nice. marcus (1821), Sacramento, California, USA Jan 3, 2007 This is an average-tasting british ale with no real remarkable attributes. There is a slightly carbonated mouthfeel and a slightly nutty undertone, making this brew just good enough to finish the glass.
