Taste is almost like iced tea, with the leaves still in there. Hoppy but not my cup ’o British tea. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 22, 2004 POurs a reddish amber with a small white head. Aroma is caramel and malt. Sweet aroma! The taste is more malt, less caramel and a splash of hops. The hops are present enough to let you know they are there but don’t really have a lot to until the finish. Not too bad. Clean, crisp, tasting bitter with some buttery accents. Light, wilting white head with a fresh lake water aroma. Thick, mouthfeel. Great for sessoin purposes. Very much a classic and deserving of its high rating - just not quite as generous as when I was a rookie. Original 3.9 Good, full bodied bitter. Malty, bread smelling aroma. Active, creamy long lasting head. Nice amber color - another winner by Fuller. ogivlado (3088), Zagreb, Croatia

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 11, 2005 This is the true taste of British bitter. I guess I’m biased because I was born in London, but this is a great beer. The aroma isn’t the best thing about it: wait for that rich taste like an old-fashioned Dundee cake with some walnut and malt and then the deeply satisfying bitterness. Perhaps a little too much fizziness in the botttled version. GeneralGao (3062), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 17, 2006 Draught at Sanctuary in Iowa City, IA. Clear light brown with an orange tint and a thick off white head that left a sheet of lace on the glass. Nice malty caramel aroma and flavor accented by sprucy hops. Modest carbonation makes for a very smooth finish. Solid brew.
