carmel malt and light floral hop aroma, well balanced malt flavor, just a hint of carmel sweetness, nice touch of hops, lasting bitter finish, goes through several changes as it warms - from dry to sweet and back

clear dark amber, wispy white head, sweet caramel aroma with a hint of fruit and very light floral hops, lots of tempered bitter flavor, enough dark caramel character to provide balance and add a touch of sweetness, slight hint of butterscotch enhances the sweetness, long bitter finish,

Bottle. Bright copper colour. Aroma is earthy - diacetyl, wood, rotting peaches, caramel. Flavour is sweet - slightly earthy with caramel overtones and a hint of diacetyl. Little bit fruity. Slightly minerally. Sweetish, bland finish. The yeasty nuances you’ll find in cask London Pride are not present here and the beer suffers for it.

[Keg] Amber color, beautiful creamy head. Simple aroma. Better than the bottled version, of course, with some improved hop character, but still unimpressive, and pretty watery, only the palate is correct.

English bitter aroma, bland hoppy flavor, malts don’t really stand out. Dry finish. Was 5 months past ’best by’ date, perhaps accounting for the stale malts flavor, but I still expected more.

Bottle. Caramel and yeast aroma, some earthy hop. Roast caramel flavour carries on through mouth. Finish is dry with some earty hops and touch of citrus. In fact the malts are more toasty than roasted. Happily sink a couple of these without thinking.

Bottled
Medium slightly tanned head. Beautiful clear amber colour. Aroma is brown sugar and toffee. Sweet malty taste with some caramel. Some bitterness with hops in the end. Very drinkable just needs a little bit more body to be very classy beer. (7/4/8/4/16 3.9)
Re-rated, bottled (BB 01/2006)
Golden copper color, small off-white head. Flowery English hops in a nose, a bit dunky. Medium-bodied, very flowery with hints of toffee. Nice hoppy aftertaste. (5/3/7/4/13 3.2)

Red-golden with a nice head. The aroma is fruity and slightly malty. The flavour is nicely balanced with notes of flower, fruit and hops. The finish has a moderate, but nice bitterness.
