Very good balance of malt and hop flavors - but even still, tasted sweeter than I expected from a british ale. Overall, though, a great beer.

16.9 oz bottle - best by May 13, 2007. Pours light copper with an off-white head. The aroma is another diacetyl bomb from an English brewery - this happens far too often. There is also some light caramel and spice, but mostly the cheap butter / butterscotch aromas. Medium smooth body with light carbonation. The taste starts with lots of butteriness and some caramel malt. The finish has some spicy hops, but then reverts back to the poor butter taste. (5/3/5/2/11 - 2.6) P Rerate notes: Got a very fresh can and the traits are very close to what was initially noted, but the bad traits are more restrained. This has just let me know this beer overall is not for me.

draft - Pours copper with a moderate head and an aroma of caramel malt and mild hops. The flavor is moderately hoppy with a nice malt balance, a medium body, and a dry, hoppy finish. Quality.

Smells strong and a little volatile sweet. Like some ol’ malt liquor or beer with whiskey in it. Color is darker and browner than the ubiquitous pale yellow american beer quite brown but it is certainly very clear! Taste is strongish too, like clean and clear alcohol. Everything about this beer is clean, clear and crisp. It’s british, with a stiff upper lip. Even the malty alky bitter bite is clean and clear. What we have here is a beer that is creamy in carbonation and bold. Very difficult on the medicinal finish. A little too much for my girlie taste buds. Comes across like whiskey at times.

Draught: Poured a clear brown with a creamy off white head. Aroma is fruity with grass and hops. The taste is very similiar and has a nice hop bite.

London Pride is an enjoyable bitter. This well balanced beer had a pleasing amber color but the head was hesitant. Over the tongue, it was smooth and well balanced with a good mouth feel. Nice dry finish. I'm sure this is even better on the other side of the pond, fresh and on cask in it's homeland.

This is the first time that I have tried this beer and likely my last. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bronze color with a medium sized tan head that fades quickly. The aroma is sweet, lightly vegetal and has a light fruity hop undertone. The flavor is bitter and lightly nutty with a light fruity hop element. The finish is sour and nutty. Overall a nothing special bitter.
