There is a slightly carbonated mouthfeel and a slightly nutty undertone, making this brew just good enough to finish the glass. Beerdedone (1885), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Apr 20, 2007 Bottle, pours a darkish amber with an off-white bubbly head. A strong malty aroma with sweet fruit. A complex palate, with the malt and the hop competing to dominate the mouth - the softish malt winning out at first, but the hop bitterness taking over through the finish. Not as good as a well kept cask, but still goes down very well. DrnkMcDermott (1859), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 11, 2008 Half-liter bottle, Best Before 8 Sep 08. Nice coppery pour from the bottle, thin layer of white foam. Nice English hop bitter smell. Taste shows a pretty substantial malt profile; not too sweet, but hearty with a bit of caramel (never cared for toffee). Earthy and peppery English hops. Seems to be more effervescent than the ESB. Very likable and easy drinking. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 24, 2008 Pours a hazy amber color with a small white head. Smells of hoppy citrus fruits, grapefruit, and a touch of malt. The flavor is lightly malted as well, with the hops becoming more prevalant in the flavor. Has almost a bready flavor to it, with a crisp bitter finish. The aftertaste was lightly hoppy, with almost a sweet fruitiness to it. Pretty good bitter. Fullers is usually pretty solid.
