| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 2, 2009 Very solid pale ale. Amber color, substantial off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt and English hops. Flavor is malty more than anything - caramel malts I’d guess. Also fairly well-hopped on the finish for what it is. Hops are typical English ones. Smooth palate. Doesn’t blow you away but definitely satisfies. BeerBiker (1392), Kathmandu, Nepal
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 11, 2007 [Sampled in 2005.] Really an enjoyable beer at that day. Used it as an ingredient in an almondcake which the kids swallowed in seconds. Lots of doses of anything which is good for a london porter. Sweetness and softness. Hops! | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 24, 2003 Nice, almost perfect appearance, but just a soft malty aroma and a timid almost pilsner like taste, just not that flavorful AgentSteve (1379), SF Bay Area, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 7, 2008 Pours a clear copper color with very thin and very light colored head. Nose is almost nonexistent. Flavor is a bit malty in the front, bitter in the mid, and dry and a slightly different bitter in the finish and aftertaste. Probably decent in hot weather after a workout or as a session. LaChad (1375), San Francisco, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 4, 2007 Cask. Dark-orange, clear, eggshell-creamy head. Malty but somewhat weak in the mouthfeel. Tastes like...beer. Fruity finish. igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 21, 2003 not too bad is this one. slight head, has the color of a well-mixed rum and coke! i have a feeling this one is loaded with fuggles hops as the apple is the prevailing aroma and taste in this beer. as freaky as it sounds, i almost can detect the aroma of gasoline in this one too. i would say this beer leans slightly toward the hops and possesses a mild cardboard aftertaste...pretty good
