Reddish amber pour with nice initial white head that turns small after a few minutes. Malt, floral hops and grass on the aroma. Taste is typical British Bitter...bitter, malty, soft hops and a bit of nuttyness. Easy to drink and perfect on a Sunday afternoon. OldMrCrow (1198), Seattle, Washington, USA

Pours a lovely amber with a good-sized head; the aroma is balanced with warm caramel malts, orchard fruit, and grassy hops; the flavor follows, a nice strong hop bite intermingling with a surprising complexity of tastes.
Perhaps I was just thrilled to be drinking something other than Heinekin on the airplane, but I was definitely impressed. Addition: a re-rate in the luxury of my own home drops a beer a notch on flavor. Still pretty nice, though. SDalkoholic (1196), Chula Vista, California, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 13, 2005 Weak in its aroma with barely any hop shining through. Tilted more to the dark brass gold color and tiny amount of head. The bottle has it listed as pale ale but after the first inital sip i knew it was in the ESB style because of its honey and sweet malt character along with a bitter hop bite. Average and nothing extraordinary. I still don’t understand what the big fuss about Fuller’s beer is all about it. wilkie (1191), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
