From all of the great ratings this brewery seems to be getting, I was expecting a little more. This along with the over rated porter, and 1999 vintage, seem to be lacking something. This just seems like an average english bitter. I would much rather drink any beer from the St. Peters Brewery.

pours clear dark amber-orange with a small off-white head.
smell is musty, toffee, peanuts, malt, somewhat metallic, corn.
taste is watery, some spice, toasted nuts, malt, grain, touch of honey, end is somewhat dry and just a little bit of bitter.

Crystal clear amber in color with a small fluffy white head. Flavor is sticky and sweet. Reminded me a bit like watered down maple syrup, with a slight hoppiness in the mid-palate. Not a favorite but would have again in a pinch.

Bottle..A clear amber color with a nice head. The aroma is spicy with notes of vanilla and toffee. It has a good complex malty taste with notes of vanilla. The finish is somewhat bitter, which complements the beer very well. To me this is a much better, less common bass.

Served from a 12 oz can aboard British Airways flight from Heathrow to Seattle. Nice chesnut brown beer with a lovelly ( even in a plastic glass) creamy off white head. Has a very chocolaty, malty and thouroughly pleasing aroma. The taste has very nice creamy ,milk chocolate tones then hints of nuts and pipe tobacco at the end. Small bitter aftertaste. Nice on the palate, not wonderful but easy on the tongue. This was a very drinkable ale even in the cans..wpould love to taste this on draught.

Dark golden/amber big frothy head good lacing on glass. Hoppy w some citrus mostly hops tho. Bitter with hops but a strange kind of (cherry?) maybe taste? Kind of metalic. Overall, average but that strange taste just kept rubbing me wrong.

This beer has a gorgeous amber/red color to it. Filtered crystal clear. Aroma smelled of sweet bread; struck a nice balance between sweet malt and bitter hops. Head was average and off-white, eventually dissipating. Flavor was moderately sweet and finished the same way. Medium bodied beer with a nice smooth texture. Great with pickled asparagus.
