Smell of burnt butter, sweet malt, and woody hops. Flavors of fruit and nuts framed on a buttery English malt background and a dry finish. A classic beer.

Not overly bitter finish but rather fruity. I will likely wait to try this on tap as I think it would make the beer taste much better. Still a great example of Brtish Ale. Very subtle aroma, some burnt malt notes and a hint of hop. Mild body, good hop flavour, and mildly bitter. Nice easy drinking brew. Syd (903), Waconia, Minnesota, USA

Nothing wrong with this very subtle Bitter. It pours a slight amber color with an average head. The flavor is malty with some bitterness. We downed several of these for breakfast prior to the festival. My friend Dennis then shorted the bar tender 20 buck who chased us accross the street to the festival. The bar tender then told us sarcastically that we need to drink more. He was pissed and so were we. We proceeded to get more pissed as the afternoon went on. Oh yeah, the beer, I could drink this by the gallon. antisnobJP (275), St. Michael, Minnesota, USA

Smells malty with a delicious Engish hop presence. Incredibly smooth drinking, well balanced ale. Kind of like a lighter version of their ESB(still their best bitter). Would be an excellent session brew. Wish I could find it in a six pack. Buying single pints gets ridiculous. If iI could drink it from the cask, I would drain that mutha.(Please save my stool, I'll be back.) Daithi8640862 (24), Dublin, Ireland
