This beer should always be relished at the proper English pub temperature so that’s it’s mild yet subtle textures can be fully appreciated. Its aftertaste is almost sweet, which really distinguishes it from traditional bitter, yet it nonetheless stands as a fine example of the English brewers art. FezMonkey (268), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

What a FANTASTIC nose, bursts with fresh hoppy fruit and sweet malt...lovely. Palate is superbly balanced, clean and very refreshing, as it says on the label this is "outstanding". Definetely a premium ale, great brew. Tesco Galashiels. DrunkenCumquat (86), Canberra, Australia

Sweet at first, quickly fading into some pleasant bitterness and a creamy finish. Good stuff. rw4244 (128), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England

POured clear dark copper amber with a smooth off-white head that diminishes with time. Sweet aroma of hops and malt, hints of oak and caramel. Complex flavour of predominantly warm malt and sharp hops, but with a oily citrus fruit hints on the roof of the mouth. Sharp oaky bitter in the finish. Oily yet agreeable palate. Brilliant example of a fine English bitter. TheJester (724), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

Molasses, salt???, something else spicy. A lot going on here. Spices, (real) maple syrup, some bitterness in the finish. A bit of tinny thinness - maybe a can thing. Good. Good warm or cold, in all weathers. I go out of my way when in the UK to find Fullers pubs so I can get my fix of Pride. They also offer it on BA. I’d say this has to be one of the best go-to, good-every-time, stock-the-fridge beers out there. hammerbeck (101), Kentucky, USA

Usually when somebody says that it means that the beer tastes like ass. This does not. I could -- and have -- drink these all night.
