vtafro (452), , New Jersey, USA Jun 3, 2009 Tap at copper mine. Amber pour, with little if any aroma. One good thing too say about this beer is its very drinkable but that isnt saying much. Not much to flavor or after taste. Rciesla (3510), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA Jun 1, 2009 Draft. Pours a dark amber body with an off white head. Bitter earth y tones and soil with a bitter earth character. Some lighter dried fruit character that follows through. Not bad. DougShoemaker (2855), Toronto, Canada May 19, 2009 Nose has fine malt, caramel, and some red pitfruit. Deep copper, small tan head, plenty of lace, impressive for draught. Taste is a fruity malt, wet hop leaves. Light bodied, really well balanced, alcohol isn’t noticed (6.8?), quite an easy drinking beer given the abv. Terrific! mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 19, 2009 [1998-20090216] Tap. Mild grains aroma, not much there. Clear, amber red body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Toasty malt grains flavour with some bread toast, young hops, lightly burned characteristics and a small kick of alcohol later. Medium body is initially smooth followed by graininess. Quite rough throughout, otherwise fair.
(@ Volo; Toronto, ON) egajdzis (3602), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 12, 2009 [Tap @ UJ’s Glenside; 6.3%] Poured a clear brown color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of nuts, caramel malts, some vanilla, and toasted dough. Taste of sweeter caramel, brown sugar, nuts, and some cocoa, with a dry finish. Seemed more like a brown ale to me. robinvboyer (1419), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Mar 30, 2009 On Tap at Beer Bistro.
Now this was NICE!
I loved the amount chewy bready malts mixed in with the thick raisin, and caramel aromas and flavors. This was a chewy beer, and felt like a meal, it was heavy, but oh so satisfying. It was a little more bitter than i was expecting in the finish, but overall, i really really enjoyed it.

Pours a medium yellow. Taste is malty and spicey. Had a long bitter finish that was a bit too long to be enjoyable. I definitely prefer the regular Fuller’s ESB over this one. PaulHegedus (458), Georgetown, Ontario, Canada Mar 15, 2009 Draught at the Shepherd’s Crook, Georgetown. What a wonderful beer! This was ruby red/amber in the glass with a small head. The aroma was fairly faint: there was some dark fruit like cherry, roasted malt, caramel. The flavour starts out with a rich, interesting malt profile: full of fruit, cherry, chocolate, more caramel, some toasted nuts, all moving to more subtle hops, some bitterness: grassy, floral, with a nice rounded finish. This is all very well balanced and approachable. Mouthfeel was medium to light, excellent. The carbonation was light, but not for the style. Wonderful stuff.
