| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 24, 2006 Poured from the bottle, a clear brown with a good frothy off-white head. An earthy malty aroma with hints of sweet caramal and slightly smokey. The flavour has sweet caramal again with hints of stewed plums. A smooth mouth feel initially, giving way to a strong bitter and dry finish. OK, but I prefer the Youngs Winter Warmer. jbrus (4864), Delft, Netherlands
