Bottled. Dark almost ruby coloured beer with a strong head. The aroma is hopped and slightly caramel and the flavour is very strongly hopped with a long dry caramel finish. Overall a well structured beer.

Bottled. A dark amber coloured beer with low carbonation and no head. The aroma has a real figgy fruity raisin quality to it with a bit of Everton toffee. The taste is full bodied; sweet, malty ; fruity and full of good caramel notes. A good Winter type ale which looks and tastes very English. I consider this to be Fullers’ take on a Winter Warmer which I’m sure would be good cask conditioned and if my memory doesn’t deceive me, I have had cask conditioned in the dim and distant past? Reminds me a bit of a weaker version of Golden Pride too?

Pours deep amber with a short though lasting beige head. Malty aroma, with some dark fruit notes. Sweetish start nutty caramel with a mildly hoppy finish. Medium bodied. Not bad.
