Draught at beerbistro. Pours a clear amber with an average size creamy off-white head -- looks nice. Slightly mild aroma is sweet & malty with a hint of nuts and fruit and some mild sugary sweetness. Flavour of caramel malt, fruit, light hops, a touch of alcohol and a light bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good.

English RB rating # 200. Botella. Clear red-brown colour with a medium short lasting beige head. Aroma of caramel, toasted malt, spice and bitter hops. Good mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet with caramel, toasted malt, spices, some dark fruits, nuts and pleasant bitter hops. Sweet and bitter spiced malty finish. Nice brew indeed!

On draft. Pours a dark amber with a nice full off-white head that diminishes but lingers at a quarter inch and rings the glass nicely. Aroma is hop flower and spice. Taste is caramel and maple syrup with a sweet toasted malt character that is terrific. The finish is a mild hop bitterness that is well balanced with the sweetness. A really terrific winter warmer.

On tap @ Volo. Malty aroma, a pleasant hops support, deep copper, tiny tan head. Flavour has treacle, malt, toffee, fine mix with these by the way. Vey well balanced, medium bodied, warming, creamy smooth. Lovely!

2008-04-01. Dark amber brown body with a small white head. Mild malty aroma, sweetish (6+). Sweet malty flavour, light caramelized malt, light bitterness balancing it. Smooth average to medium palate. Not overly complex, but a very nice drinkable beer that I could see settling in for a few of. On tap at Beer Bistro, Toronto

Tap @ Beer Bistro, Toronto. Deep amber color, aroma is somewhat sweet with mild hop presence. Didnt really come across too much winter type flavor. Overall, a decent English style ale

Draught @ beerbistro, Toronto, ON: Passed up a DFH 60-minute for this one; figured I can always get DFH but I hadn’t seen this one on tap before. Came pretty dark in colour, decent off-white head that didn’t last long. Aroma is mild, every so slight sweetness to be found, a bit bready. Flavour was far less pronounced than I’d expected, and altogether a little boring. Good enough sweetness, spicing, hops. Average, and I’m surprised to note I preferred my previous libation, the Beau’s Bogwater. Go figure, didn’t see that one coming.
