Dark orange red with a white head. Sweet caramel malt aroma. Nutty malt taste with a sharp bitter finish. Sounds like it ought to be good, but somehow it just didn’t quite cut the mustard.

A Mes rate: 50cl bottle from Shamansburys.
Rich translucent red amber colour, would probably be worth a 4 if it had a head, sadly after just a short while, there is none. Nutty malt aroma with plenty of bready notes and some odd marzipan like stuff. Rather medicinal in the flavour, reminding me a lot of germoline or Bazooka gum. Nice malt, interesting finish but nothing really to shout about. Still, certainly one of the better offerings from Fullers.

Nose of plum, cream, alcohol, syrup and malt. Pours a mahoghany coloured beer with a small head. Some cloying is noticeable. Taste of malt, honey, hops leading to a mildly bitter after taste. A well balanced beer.

Bottle. Dark copper colour, medium head. Aroma of floral hops and caramel. Rich hop-laden flavour with some spice and a good warming feeling. Nice bitter finish.

Swee fruity and slightly nutty aroma. Pours with a deep bronze hue and creamy and big off white head. Highly hoppey flavour with raisin, cherry and nutty notes. Nice and syrupy wih some balancing bitterness in the finish. Very enjoyable winter ale.

Bottle picked up at Sainsburys, Kidlington, 0812-07 Pours brown in colour with some ruby highlights topped off with an off white head. Great fruity flavour, bit tangy, bit malty but lovely full flavour, there are nuts there as well and some caramel, really nice beer (suprised that I hadn’t rated this one before)
