Skinnyviking (4142), Copenhagen, Denmark Jul 16, 2007 Bottle. Medium high fluffy white but lasting head. Clear amber body. Sweet barley malt aroma with a good deal of honey. Honey of course but also a bit of hops in a fine balance. The carbonation is there but seems just right to make the beer fresh. Short aftertaste though. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 12, 2007 Light honeyish colour with good fresh head. very subtle hop and honey smell. Easy drinking session ale. Not too sweet, and the hops are under the honey’s constraint. Satisfying, drying aftertaste. HogcliffeLenny (162), Christchurch, Dorset, England Jul 11, 2007 Bottle 500ml. A clear golden pour with a creamy white head. An obvious set honey aroma. A sweet honey and almond flavour. In fact, the taste reminds me of a Toblerone bar. Finishes with just a hint of bitterness. Medium bodied. Personally, I would have liked a little more malt. StompBrockmore (300), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 10, 2007 500ml bottle - pours clear gold with a medium white head that eventually became nothing at all. Aroma is very malty, a little bit earthy, and with a sort of mildly unpleasant funkiness that I can’t quite put my finger on. Honey comes through more in the flavour and the beer gets a bit sweeter. Aftertaste is sweet with what I’m guessing is the honey and malt and lingers nicely. Body is light. It’s drinkable, but this isn’t really my speed. It’s pretty boring and what is going on just doesn’t really do it for me. My least favourite brew from Fuller’s for sure. VeloVampire (483), Parkdale, Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 6, 2007 500 ml bottle - pours medium gold, with a thick white crown. Very nice looking. Aroma a delicate mix of musty, earthy hops and a combination of malt and honey sweetness. They did it nicely in that the honey isn’t overpowering, but blends with the natural sweetness of the malt. The honey comes out a bit more in the flavour, which has more sweetness, woody hops, and a metallic edge. It almost seems as if the honey is a gimmick - the beer doesn’t need it as the malt provides ample natural sweetness. Light body with very little finish. Still, a good brew - nothing exceptional, but well made and would be a refreshing summer quaffing ale. mephisto (1144), Taiwan Jul 6, 2007 clear golden with beige head, it has flowery aroma and honey flavor. sweet and fruity. scanovajr (361), Stanford, California, USA Jun 16, 2007 Bottled.
