Slacks (481), Bolton, Ontario, Canada Oct 21, 2006 500ml Bottle: Pours, oddly, honey in colour with no visual carbonation and an ok head that left decent lacing and never quite fully retired. Aroma of sweet malt, cereal, wet grass, and some hops; emphasis on the wet grass. Flavour is very watered down and somewhat delicate, moreso than I’d expected in the somewhat strong scent. The cereals really come through here, and the honey hits on the aftertaste. I did, however, find it well balanced. Drank it in the appropriate glass and was hit on all three levels of the palate at once. Still, too watery and drab for my tastes. jerohen (1602), Bussum, Netherlands Oct 21, 2006 Bottled, 0.5 liter BB june 2006. Dark golden coloured, slightly hazy appearance. Honey dominates in aroma, some malts and vanilla, perhaps even a hint of aniseed. Very sweet flavour, low on bitterness, little carbonation. Finishes very sweet, pure honey. Nice beer if you have just one, but could get boring after having a few in a row. Thanks to my girlfriend for taking it along from London. aerosol999 (113), Quebec, Canada Oct 21, 2006 Aroma: Grassy, candy like, very sweet. Caramel, vanilla and Bird’s custard powder
Flavour: Sweet malt and grassy character, caramel - not much to say really
Appearance: Gold with deep head and with a tight bead of carbonation
Mouthfeel: Medium light bodied with fluffy carbonation
Overall: Less than I was hoping for. Grassy hops and caramel sweetness. Less bitter than it needs to balance the sweet malt character. Beautiful aroma which unfortunately doesn’t follow through in the flavour department, Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark Oct 20, 2006 Bottle. Very flat and quickly dissolving head, with a yellowish color. Aroma is defiantly honey sweet, with hints of malt and hops. Light body I thought. Flavor is bitter-sweet and dry. Ok beer, but a weaker and sweeter version of the London Pride which in my opinion is a much better beer. Stefano (1321), Esbjerg, Denmark Oct 18, 2006 Updated: Mar 2, 2007Golden amber body, initially frothy white head diminishes steadily. Slight honeyed aroma. Taste is hoppy, bit malty-sweet and much honey. daniel0017 (232), Ontario, Canada Oct 4, 2006 Has a faint smelling metallic barley malt aroma. Pours a rich golden honey color with one finger’s height white, bubbly head. Tastes like roasted chestnuts covered in sweet honey, complementing my filet mignon to a tee. Well balanced, rich consistency. As with other Fuller products, this one distinguishes itself among other names. Dedollewaitor (3625), Odense, Denmark Sep 23, 2006 Clear see through golden with little quick disappearing white head. Little malty taste and aroma. Some honey and very little spice. Some sweetness. Watery texture. The Best about this beer is the cute label. (reminds me of my girlfriend!) TheGrandMaster (1846), Auckland, New Zealand Sep 23, 2006 Poured from the bottle, quite a bit of carbonation, clear golden yellow colour with a filmy white head. Malty aroma with honey, with some spice in the background. Earthy malt flavours with that honey (though not as strong as in the aroma, but stronger than when from the cask) - and I agree, a little bit soapy. Bitter and buttery in the finish.
