cheeta (858), Langå, Denmark Dec 3, 2008 Heavy malty and light notes of honey. Huge frothy, white head. Fair lacing. Mostly diminishing longevity. Clear yellow body. Moderate sweet flavor. Light to medium palate with watery texture. Pinball (2693), Allerød, Denmark Nov 30, 2008 Bottle, 10 days overdue acc. to best before date.
Slightly cloudy yellow, with a small white head. Was totally alive when i opened it, had to rush to the kitchen sink with a volcanic bottle.
aroma : pilsener like aroma, honey, hops, peaches, a little cardboard.
flavor is honey, slight bitterness, slight sawdust, very tasty and refreshing, but a little too far on the sweet side to be -for me - a real session beer.
NosirIwont (1162), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark Nov 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy amberish golden with a diminishing white head. Sweetish malt and hops in the aroma. Slight milky notes as it warms. Flavour is malty. Notes of cereals. Faint hops. Malty finish with a bit of honey notes. Milky notes as it warms. Kind of boring. 30-11-08. Bart (1625), Vosselaar, Belgium Nov 29, 2008 Bottled version, Golden blond coloured beer with some light carbonation and a small white head. Herby sweet malty aroma with some light yeasty and honey touch. Medium to full palate. Finish is light bitter sweet, honey light touched with a longer dry and herby ending. Rather nice actually madquacker (706), Canberra ACT, Australia Nov 27, 2008 Orange colour. Pours a nice ead. Honeyish sweetness and citrus. Weak in the hops area. EFC1878 (291), Manchester, Greater Manchester, England Oct 30, 2008 500ml bottle from Tesco. Dark honey colour with tight white head. Nose is, unsurprisingly, sweet with citrus and flower undertones. Initially sweet malt (thought not overly so) it has a complex bitter/sweet/dry finish. Nicely balanced, this is far better than I expected after the horrible experience I had with its former 4.3% incarnation. Fullers have produced one of the few honey beers that isn’t overwhelmingly honey-sweet and I’ll be seeking out the cask version ASAP. DruncanVeasey (2690), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England Oct 19, 2008 Headless Lucozade pour fizzing out in seconds, even in a weizen. Congealed fat, candlewax, unscented soap, paper towel and faint beeswaxy aroma (why do honey beers never smell of honey?). Custard slice, cornflake and disinfectant flavour. Sickly buttery popcorn afters. Endless sweetness without balance. A tipper. JRHBrew (217), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada Oct 12, 2008 I thought this beer would be a total write-off. It was incredibly enjoyable, however boring. Since my expectations were greatly exceeded it is likely that my rating is too high.
