downender (1616), Bristol, Gloucestershire, England Jun 26, 2007 Cask-conditioned at the Cambridge, Bristol November 2006. Brown coloured with minimal head. Aroma of caramel with toasted notes. Flavour was malty in the main with a dry finish. Easy drinking. Mes_and_Sim (4476), Highgate, Greater London, England Nov 13, 2006 A Mes rate: Cask at whatever the hell Fullers have called the Head of Steam now. How dare they! Blackcurrent and malt in the nose. Red brown colour with no head. Malt and toffee flavour with a hint of alcohol. Unexpected hoppy finish. Thin in the palate. Yawns. Nothing I can get excited about. Joeh (1892), Buckinghamshire, England Nov 7, 2006 Cask at the General Havelock, Wycombe Marsh. Brown beer with a soapy head. Sweet malt, slightly thin with some cereal character and background bitterness. Nothing special. scotty (754), Scotland Apr 18, 2006 Good colour & nice white head. Quite light on the nose, with only a hint of citrussy fruit coming across. Lots of malty flavours on the palate, with a rather dry, slightly sharp acidity on the long finish. Not as hoppy as I expected, but a good, fairly well balanced brew overall. johndoughty (1660), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Dec 19, 2004 A nice reddish beer with a very pleasant mouthfeel. The only thing that stops it from being a very good beer is its thiness which becomes more noticable the longer you drink it.
