Cask handpull, The Raven, Bath. Brilliant lacing bronze. Bit of orange and tea. Light herbal hop and caramel hints. That’s it. Dead.

Volo Cask Days 2009. Wow, this was so nice. Loads of sweet, bready, biscuity malts. SOme slight hops just for a touch of bitterness, but the sweet silky bready malts won me over.

2009-10-31. Red-brown body with a smallish head. 3+ Aroma is earthy, illegible malt profile, bit dry. Flavour is similar, English malt character, mild toasty biscuity malt character. Average plus bodied palate. Okay, but does not make me want more. Cask at Volo Cask Days 2009

Cask at Shepherds Crook, Georgetown. It’s an amber colour in a tall British pint glass with a slight, bubbly tan head. The aroma is full of caramel, butter, biscuit, slight hops. Mouthfeel is a bit on the creamy side. There’s toffee, creamy milk chocolate, more biscuit, butter in the flavour with a medium malt finish.

Cask conditioned handpump Bear Oxford. A ruby to amber coloured beer with off-white bubbles for a head. An autumnal fruity malty aroma with toffee and bonfires. The taste is fruity and woody with sweet caramel notes. A nice beer with good depth.
