Nov 27, 2008 From cask at Charlies. Pours clear and golden orage with a small white head. Mild roasted malty aroma with a faint fruity note. Sweet caramel and slight spiced flavoured with a light roasted note. Simple and tasty. Light biter into a smooth roasted malty finish. Nice one.

Red-amber color, no head. It doesn’t have much aroma, maybe a very light yeast, cream and chocolate. It has a dry mouthfeel, with a good flavor of medium dark caramel, with very light but interesting notes of cookies and chocolate. Correct bitterness. Simple, but just a notch above many boring Bitters.

Nov 13, 2006 A Mes rate: Cask at whatever the hell Fullers have called the Head of Steam now. How dare they! Blackcurrent and malt in the nose. Red brown colour with no head. Malt and toffee flavour with a hint of alcohol. Unexpected hoppy finish. Thin in the palate. Yawns. Nothing I can get excited about.

Oct 27, 2003 Cask Conditioned at The Rose & Crown, Charlbury. Definitely red, cereal tasting beer, toasted malts with a smooth floral, sweet hop note on the finish.
