Commercial Description:
Pasteurised bottle.
Light, smooth, and refreshing, Summer Ale is pale gold in colour, and at 3.9% alcohol by volume, an excellent quaffing ale. It delivers a flavour most lagers can only dream of, thanks to its all-malt brew (containing malted wheat), and 100% Saaz hops, a Czech variety found in the best pilseners. Like Organic Honey Dew, it should always be served chilled.

A yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of straw, honey, and bees wax. The flavor is also sweet - too sweet for me, and with notes of honey and bees wax. The honey makes the mouthfeel sticky. The end is dry.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pale golden with a small, dissipating head. Lovely fresh, hoppy aroma. Light character, no real body or alcohol with only a discreet bitterness. The wheat adds a slight acidity making this a fresh and quenching summer beer. 280202

Orange coloured. Light bodied and crisp with citrus aroma and big bitterness.

Blond color, poor head. The aroma is lightly metallic, with very light yellow apples. The taste is poor, with a very light citrus and honey touch, the bitterness is simply missing. Making love in a canoe.

I have tasted this on a few occasions and my rating is pretty much the same every time: A refreshing ale with notes of fruits and flower, it has a tendency to get a bit stale and uninteresting in the end. It hasn’t gotten the same charm and fines as the other Fuller beers.

A Mes rate: 50 cl bottle from Shamansburys. Typical bland rubbish really. A slightly sweet blond ale lacking in character and nothing at all to shout about. That’s my rate...

Poured like a lager, and aroma was quite terrible. Taste was slightly sweet but seriously lacking in alot of things. Not one to try again unless its on draught.

Bottle. Better on cask, this seems to be a bit thin in the flavour department, some apricoty sort of flavours, and mild bitterness.
