Commercial Description:
Cask; Seasonal - May to August.
Light, smooth, and refreshing, Summer Ale is pale gold in colour, and at 3.9% alcohol by volume, an excellent quaffing ale. It delivers a flavour most lagers can only dream of, thanks to its all-malt brew (containing malted wheat), and 100% Saaz hops, a Czech variety found in the best pilseners. Like Organic Honey Dew, it should always be served chilled.

(Cask at Duke of Hamilton, Hampstead, London, 6 Aug 2007) Golden yellow colour with brief head. Fruity nose with sweetish notes of mandarin and apricots. Fruity taste with mandarin, apricots and grassy, floral hops in the finish. Rather thin. Too much malt sweetness takes the edge of the delicate hops. Summery, but fairly boring.

Cask, Jan Primus. Slight hazy golden color, short head. Aroma is very fruity of pear, apricot and citrus, some pilsner malt, some flowery hops. Bit dry and slight bitter, fruity and slight sour even. Not bad.

Cask conditioned @ Humble Plumb, Soton. Sweet pale malts, fruity yeast and a little chalk. Tends towards cloying.

Cask conditioned. Golden coloured with a moderate white head. Slight caramel aroma followed by sweet malt flavours and a hint of a hoppy finish. An easy enough session beer for hot weather but rather lacking in character.

Cask. Sweet, creamy mouthfeel, with a slight hop bitter finish. Not too much going on it has to be said, but its refreshing enough.
