[Sampled October 11, 2003] The aroma is sweet and very complex with notes of plums, alcohol, fruit and sligt earth. The color is amber and it has a beutiful though disappearing head. The flavor is great; a nice sweetness with notes of plums, wood, fruits, figs, and slight hints of the alcohol. This is a great beer - that has aged very well.

Rb# 4500: 50 cL bottle 45034, special vintage session at Cockneys stand in Århus2008. Pours clear and golden amber with a lacing white head. Light chalky and dense fruity aroma, shows light over the top notes, yet not still inviting aroma. Flavour is smooth fruity with a mild portwine like note, yet still quite fresh fruity accents too. Minor oxidised note before the finish. Light warming finish with a nice wineous note slowly building up.

Bottled at Akkurat, Stockholm. Cloudy amber. Oxidized caramelly aroma. Sweet and full bodied with soft malt character. Caramelly with some grass and tar. A warming, malty beer. It bears the sign of age but is still good. I don’t think it will go anywhere from here though.

Bottle at ÅBF08. 11 years old. Sherry aroma, some alcohol. Clear dark amber colour. No head. Sweet flavour, lots of dried fruit, some yeast but nice. Vanilla. Distinct alcohol.

Bottled@Akkurat, Stockholm. Deep ruby red colour, small head. Aroma is raisins, sweet malts, lots of caramel and slightly oxidized. Flavour is vanilla, plum, raisins, alcohol and bigtime caramel malts. Really nicely aged, though probably the only way from here is down...

Amber color. Very strong malt and caramel aroma and flavor. Sweeter than younger examples (1999 and 2000, 3 years old), less complex and fruity, but still a giant beer. Thanks a lot Jens (Ungstrup), for this rare bottle!

Bottled #25154 @Akkurat
Hazy nutty brown color, firm creamy off-white head. Toffeish fudge aroma, dark fruits, nuts, light oxidation. Caramelly chocolaty with hazelnuts and raisins, late alcohol punch. Light licorice in the aftertaste. Bottle showed tiny notes of oxidation.

Bottle @ Aarhus, 2008.
[my 300th English brew!]
Pours clear dark red-brown with a medium, frothy/creamy head that is a slight yellow in colour. Aroma is very lightly oxidized, wonderful toffee notes, grainy chewy malts and a little apples and black currants. Super, creamy and oily mouthfeel - fair carbonation. Flavour has port, oak, vinious, overripe fruits - and a fair cellar note that still hasn’t taken over. This was probably a good time to try this vintage (even in the rarer white box). Wonderful - and by far the next-best Vintage (folleing the 1999).
