Commercial Description:
Bottle Conditioned.
The Champion theme was used once again for this classic Vintage Ale with Champion Fuggles and Champion Optic malt. Slightly redder in appearance, this ale is full of body with a sherry-like flavour.

500 ml bottle number 78542 thanks to Eric- a 10 year old ESA! Pours a dark brown/red color with a medium white head. A rich malty nose, sweet sherry and smoke. A very nice flavor of sweet sherry, rich earthy malts, caramel, loads of delicate port like flavors. Very nice. I think this was my favorite vintage yet.

Bottle at the brewery, sampled Dec 2009. Dusty hops, sweet malt. All the edges have been rounded off, just a smooth, sweet elexir. Over the top? Sure. But still a lovely liquor-like drink that is highly drinkable. But, on the other hand. I don’t think storing it longer will do much good. Not that this has been stored in optimal condition!

Nose of sweetness, light smokiness (hope it’s not from the firepit), toffee, woodiness, and light stronmg white wine. Clear copper with a small cream head. Flavor is light toffee, very lightly preserved bitterness, and sherry (as much as I hate to admit a brewers description is observable n the beer/.

The aroma is sweet malty with notes of alcohol and caramel. The color is dark amber and it has a small fast disappearing head. The flavor is sweet and malty with strong notes of caramel.

Bottle. An amber coloured pour with a superb fluffy off white head. Caramel, dark fruit, sherry aroma. Tastes like port, fruity, caramel, malty. Incredibly warming. Still great at 10 years old, I have another 4 bottles of 1999 Vintage. A wonderful beery experience.
