Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Floor malted Optic malt; Fuggles and Super Styrian hops.
Edition of 100,000
This full-bodied vintage is brewed with Fuggles and Super Styrian hops that create a tapestry of rich, spicy flavours. Orange, citrus and fruitcake notes are all present, and are balanced well with the biscuity, creamy malt flavours leaving a soft and warming finish.

I enjoyed this very much. My first foray into Fuller’s Vintage ales. Pours with a thick white head. I enjoyed the citrus spices and strong caramel flavours.

Bottle #74876:   Reddish caramel, large foamy off-white head, attractive lacing.   Nose of caramel, peat, lavender, and minor alcohol.   Seems rather ordinary, at least less than I expected.   Flavorwise its rather weak, sweet malts, some caramel, toffee, maybe a little bit of Good & Plenty like candy sweetness.   Yeah, totally perfumy on the backside, reminds me of the coating on those little licorice candies (Good & Plenty).   Somewhat boozy on the finish, thinner than expected.   Not as complex as I remembered.   I get the feeling this won’t get any better with age... except to say less hot.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Unimpressed.   Seems too simple, too young, and not big enough to age well.   It’s almost watery, certainly much less viscous than other years.   This one was a letdown.   Lingering alcohol, soft sweet malts, and fusels.   I was expecting quite a bit more.   Damn...

Bottled. An amber beer with a light tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, metal, alcohol, and hints of oxidation. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, metal from the alcohol, and a slight oxidation combined with some over ripe fruits, leading to a bitter finish. The alcohol tickles the tongue.

Bottle from regional. Pours a reddish orange, thin tan head.
Aroma has some vodka-like alcohol, overridden by a caramelly malt, a hint of orange rind, marmite, bready maly.
Flavour is somewhat bitter, mainly from alcohol. Some earthy hop, very nice full body. I find a strong orange rind flavour, a hint of spice. Finish is quit bitter, alcoholic, warm.
A subtle beer, with strong flavours.
