hopdog (4552), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA May 7, 2008 Bottle shared courtesy of egajdzis. Bottle # 113930. Poured a medium and clear orange color with a medium sized off white head. Aromas of earthiness, caramel, toffee, and fruity. Tastes of carame, toffee, some fruitiness, and citrus.
rkuhnel (1096), Eureka, California, USA Aug 27, 2008 At $8.35 a bottle this came in a box and the bottle poured a nice cloudy rich amber color with a light tan head and some sticky lacing rings. Nose of caramel malts and some citrus hops, backed up with odors of ripe fruit. Quite a tantalizing odor. Mouthfeel is rich and creamy. Flavor is also very rich and there is long dry bitter finish. I found this quite drinkable and enjoyable. Skeegle (313), USA Aug 20, 2008 This beer was very strong for its relatively low imperial abv. I liked that the alcohol was there with every sip because it really pressed the spicier notes against the palate. Time would unquestionably make this beer much better, as it tastes very green now, but mine was good with only a year on it. The sugars would have helped if they were ripened though. Still I thought it was great. JMFG (1117), Florida, USA Aug 15, 2008 Bottle. Ruddy amber color, loose layer of foam that quickly dissipates. Toasted grains, mild muddy hops, more alcohol present than the other vintage ale I’ve had. Taste is malt forward, but gets some vanilla tastes, some alcohol and pepper notes, murky hops. Overall, very nice, perhaps could use a little time. Skidds (178), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Aug 7, 2008 I have been getting one of these in my stocking at X-mas for the past four years. I always look forward to drinking it. Absolutely excellent ale. Everything has been said already.
