Strong fruity caramel, toffee, and wood flavors with a nice crisp bite and a lingering bitter caramel finish. A bright nutty and caramel aroma with mild alcohol and a hint that it could have been barrel aged. blutt59 (2184), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 8, 2009 2008 vintage. Bottle 144922. Poured out a clear amber color, with a sticky white head. Aromas are alcohol, dark dried fruits, yeast. Flavors are alcohol, caramel, yeasty bread. Still young & hot. Needs time to mellow. Burns the back of your throat when swallowed.
Decent enough beer, but too young right now. Snojerk321 (2027), San Diego, California, USA

Caramal malt aroma - hints of aniseed and berries. And uncomplicated, but full fruity palate along with that caramal malt. Medium bitterness, but a fairly dry finish. Delicious. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 20, 2009 50cl bottle. Pours dark amber with a small creamy white head and lacings. Nose is sweet of alcohol and malts. Caramel, dark fruits and sugar. Smooth palate. Low carbonation. Still a little rough around the edges compared to the older ones. Still quite nice! jbrus (4914), Delft, Netherlands
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 20, 2009 Bottle@Home. Not their best in the row of Vintage Ales. To me it’s more like a very well brewed European Strong Lager than a English Ale. Fruity and hoppy aroma. Amber colour, yellowish head, good lace. Very sweet, very bitter, malty, apple, bit metallic finish. Thick and oily.
