Rune (1807), Tromsø, Norway Oct 5, 2008 500ml bottle bought at Gl. Strand Øl & Vin. Described as an extra strong pilsner. Golden brown body under a firm, off-white head quickly disappearing. Bread malt aroma. Medium to full palate, but still rather savourless, only brief hints of sweet, dried fruits. Overpowering alcohol (rating no. 1800) (hotel room, Hotel Danmark 19.09.2008). Fin (2348), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Sep 25, 2008 Had this at The European Beer Festival, Kobenhaven, 12-09-08. Full flavoured and with plenty of toffee and caramel. This beer poured mid amber, with quickly fading light beige had. I found this just a little too sticky and even a little sacchriney at times. Skinnyviking (2726), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 24, 2008 Bottle. High creamy and long lasting off-white head. Clear dark amber body. Weak and sweet malt aroma without hops bitterness, just a bit of caramel and some grassy notes plus alcohol. Flavor also too sweet caramel with just a hint of roasted malt. Alcohol can barely be spotted. Low carbonation. Short aftertaste. I guess the brewer has tried to hide the high alcohol percentage with sweetness. He has succeeded in this but unfortunately the beer is too anonymous. TBone (5115), Pori, Finland Sep 22, 2008 (Draught. EBF).
