Cloudy dark amber with a big frothy off-white head. Malt and biscuit, some figs, some port in the aroma. Sweet and malty flavour with some fruit and some warming alcohol. A very fine barley wine, but with no stand out features.

Københavnske Øldage 07. Draught/cold. The color is very beautiful red-golden and the head is creamy. The aroma is like fresh dough and the mouthfeel is oily. The flavour has light sweetness, notes of dark fruit, rowan berries, roasted malt, caramel and a citrussy bitterness. It’s OK, but not outstanding. 2099

Draught at Københavnske Øldage. Deep golden, clear pour with a beige head. Raisins and prunes, sweetness, a little spicyness and fruits in the aroma. The flavor has dried fruits, sugar and some spicyness. Full-bodied, but a bit sticky in the mouth. Sweet, sugary finish. I found it a bit sweet for a barley wine, maybe it needs more lagering? Rating: 6-4-7-3-13-3.3. (070512)

Bottle. (#0827) A clear, copper-colored beer with a bit small off-white to beige head. Looking quite good in the glass. Sweetish, sugary and fruity and fruity nose, maybe a bit boring. The flavor is tad more interesting, and quite flavorful, but there’s a little note of cooked vegetables that I could easily do without. Else, it’s sweet and quite fruity, with some alcohol and caramel, and a little bitterness. Fruity, malty and a slightly sugary finish. Full-bodied, a bit warming and with a nice level of carbonation. I don’t think the beer pins the barley wine style very well, but it’s a nice beer anyway. (080509)

Tap. Pours a beautiful red amber with a small off white creamy head. Fruity and malty aroma that feels just a touch too sweet. Flavour has plenty of caramel with a woody edge. Still a touch too sweet.

Draught. Clear orange coloured with an off white head. Aroma of caramel and fruits with notes of dried fruits and overriped fruits. Sweet flavour of fruits, dried fruits, cookies, liquorice and hops.
