NosirIwont (1162), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark Sep 8, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy amber-orange wit ha pinkish touch. Nice off-white head. Malty aroma with wooden notes and some hops in the background. A bit cloying. Fruity and remote vegetal notes as it warms. Flavour is malty with wooden notes as well. Hops are still in the background and are somewhat dwarfed by the malt, but still feels well-integrated in the beer. A bit cloying though. Metallic notes as it warms. Finish is malty with a milky/creamy note and a mild bitterness. Lingering cereal/vegetal/apple notes. Overall okay, but too cloying, and could have done without the cereals etc. in the finish. 08-09-09. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Jul 27, 2009 Orange with a small white head. amber. very large thick light brown head.
slightly sour, caramelly brown sugary roasted malty aroma. the sour note frigthens me - could be intended dark fruity stuff, or an infected brew.
flavor : not infected.. brown sugar sweet, faint roasted malts, good milk caramel, milk chocolate, hops, very nice and well matched bitterness towards the end. a very well composed flavor. i didn’t think the alc. was so high. well hidden alc. Some alcohol and some hop spices fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Apr 5, 2009 Draught at Cockney Pub, Århus Amber color, eggwhite creamy head. Sweet arima, maltish and caramelly, toffee. Fat mouthfeel, sweetish toffee, maybe fudge, with good bitterness. Pleasant. flemmingwillum (226), København S, Denmark Mar 31, 2009 Quite malty aroma, which is positive, and sweet but a little bit sour. Appearance is typical english ale; not much for the head, but I’m unsure for the cleaning of my glass. The flavor is a repetition of the aroma, malty and sweet, a little sour, but there’s a good amount of alcohol-taste and moderate bitter hops in the end too. Palate is creamy and nice for an english strong. A very drinkable beer, enjoyable, but not unusual in any way.
