Commercial Description:
Humlen tilsættes af to omgange.

English: Fur Porter is a top fermented beer of the Imperial Stout style. Dark mahogany color with a nut brown head which has a long durability and leaves nice lacings on the glass. Nice aroma of smoked malt and English licorice. Full malty flavor with an extra note of smoked malt and English licorice which ends in a fresh finish, even for this style. English inspired porter brewed with five different types of malt - smoked, caramel and chocolate malts amongst others - and two types of hops where one of them gives the beer its fresh note. The hops are added in two stages.

It was a tough battle on which of the Fur beers I tried was the best. This came second. Didn’t have much experience with porters (practically zero). Licorice dominates taste and aroma. Hints of coffee and caramel as well. Very tasty and interesting.

Draft at Cockneys Pub, Aarhus. Virtually no head. Duration obsolete. Taste and aroma is mostly licorice with some hints of coffee and chocloate.

Very dark red-brown with big beige head. Very roasted aroma with a bit of fruit. Quite sweet with lots of roasted flavours, some coffee and a touch of bitter chocolate.

Near black colored, slight red tones there. Little light brown head. Fine smoke, chocolate and roastiness in aroma, good aroma with mild alcohol and licorice. Medium to full bodied. Flavor is also rich with roastiness, coffee, smoke, licorice, fine hops and some sweetness. Aftertaste has hoppy bitterness with slight licorice. Again good danish brew.

Fur Porter has a nice malty and full body with hints of minerals from the unfiltrered water of the island of Fur in Denmark. Is also has, except from the taste of chocolate, a taste like tobacco, but in a good way like old pipe tobacco. This is maybe because that the water used to brewing the beer has been naturally filtered through volcano layers on fur in milleniums? The Beer is quite dry which is great, but it could use a little more roastyness. It still really makes you want one more sip, though.
