Commercial Description:
Humlen tilsættes af to omgange.

English: Fur Porter is a top fermented beer of the Imperial Stout style. Dark mahogany color with a nut brown head which has a long durability and leaves nice lacings on the glass. Nice aroma of smoked malt and English licorice. Full malty flavor with an extra note of smoked malt and English licorice which ends in a fresh finish, even for this style. English inspired porter brewed with five different types of malt - smoked, caramel and chocolate malts amongst others - and two types of hops where one of them gives the beer its fresh note. The hops are added in two stages.

Draught at KØ 2006. I tried this before and wasn’t impressed, but then Furseth told me that the recipe has been changed. Slightly smokey licorice smell. Clean taste wiht medium body. Short, clean aftertaste. Good but not impressive at all.

Nearly black body with a light brown head leaving no laces; quite deep nose, but not all that complex: little chocolate, some English licorice, grain but also a very little used dishcloth; quite nice balanced bitter body, very pleasant; into slow starting, very pleasant long finish, mostly of bitter chocolate, but also some sweet soft licorice, and a quite dry pleasant bitterness. Very pleasant and well made.

Bottle. Dark brown with a firm light brown head. Strong aroma of roasted malts, bacon and salt. Very roasty, almost burnt flavour of malts, dark chocolate, nut-shels and smoked ham. Quite bitter finish of roaste/burnt grains. Body was a bit thin though. Dark chocolate and salt in the finish. A decent porter.

Nice liquorice smell. Taste of liquorice, too, slightly sweet, but not too much. Aromatic, fine hoppy finish. An enjoyable porter, easy drinking in the positive sense of the term.

Smokey and roasted aroma (almost like a rauchbier). Pitch-black with light-brown head. Smokey and roasted flavour. Light body for a beer this flavoursome with a slight metallic mouth feel and some faint liquorice in the aftertaste. An ok. beer but far from the best porter I have had.

Pours a dark red/brown with a beige head. Smells slightly smoked. Nice flavors of roasted malts. Aromas of smoke and a bit of leather. Slightly coffeish and a bit sour. Soft carbonation. Nice creamy texture. Smoked finish with a hint of band-aid.
