Commercial Description:
Humlen tilsættes af to omgange.

English: Fur Porter is a top fermented beer of the Imperial Stout style. Dark mahogany color with a nut brown head which has a long durability and leaves nice lacings on the glass. Nice aroma of smoked malt and English licorice. Full malty flavor with an extra note of smoked malt and English licorice which ends in a fresh finish, even for this style. English inspired porter brewed with five different types of malt - smoked, caramel and chocolate malts amongst others - and two types of hops where one of them gives the beer its fresh note. The hops are added in two stages.

Bottle - trade with chris_o. A black beer with a nice tan coloured head, but that disappears quite quickly. The aroma is quite smoky and roasty with a tiny of amount of dark berry fruit. The taste has nice roasted malts and a dry coffee/chocolate feel to it. I felt it had a nice fullish body, and really enjoyed it. Interestingly the BBE is tomorrow, so this is matured the maximum the brewer would recommend.

Bottle brought back from Denmark by a friend, thanks Mette. Very dark brown/black beer with lasting dark beige head. Smokey chocolate and coffee aroma. Really lovely porter. Could do with some dark fruit. Choc though is really nice and bitter. Good grainy mouthfeel

Bottled. Dark brown, next to black, yet with a reddish hue, and topped by a nice brown head. Roasted aroma with some bonfire-sour smoke, chocolate and a little fruityness. The flavor much the same, with a nice roasted bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite warming, smooth mouthfeel. Maybe it has improved since they started brewing it, I don’t know, but I lifted my rating a bit. It could use more body, and even though the aroma is nice, it is a bit anonymous, but a good beer it is. Old rating 5-4-5-4-13-3.1. (Rerated 070709) (051213)

Bottle 50 cl @ 14C. Weak aroma compared to Limfjordsporter. Okay flavour of roasted malts and liquerice. Low carbonation.

500ml bottle. Almost black, with a reddish tinge. No head to speak of. Chocolate and soy sauce aroma, with phenolic edges. On the palate there’s chicory coffee, licorice, powdery chocolate and bags of roasty malt. Quite bitter, but there’s an underlying sweetness too. The mouthfeel is maybe a bit thin. Decent bite on the finish. A commendable effort.

Black colour with an off white medium head. Spicy flavour with hints of licorice and anice. Only a medium body, but lots of taste.

500 ml bottle, bought in Hvide Sande, Denmark. ABV is 6.5%. Nearly black colour (= very dark brown to ruby), large tan head. Roasty aroma, notes of coffee and chocolate, hints of leather and liquorice. Roasty flavour with coffee and chocolate, smoother and sweeter than expected. Some bitterness from the roastiness, but the hops are not plentiful. Not very complex, but it’s a nice and very drinkable porter. Does not quite live up to the high price, though.

Bottle. Near black with fine beige head. Olive oil, roasted, slightly rusty, touch of acidity (primarily in the aroma), light bodied considering abv. Pleasent porter but far from outstanding.
