Commercial Description:

English: Fur Renæssance is a top fermented beer of the Brown Ale style. Dark and reddish golden color with a dense creme colored head with a long durability and leaves nice lacings on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts and hop flowers. Balanced and harmonious flavor of smoked malt amongst others, which finishes with strong hop notes. Danish inspired Brown Ale brewed with five different types of malt - smoked malt amongst others - and five types of hops - both bittering and aroma hops - which are added in three stages.

An amber beer with a thick brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and herbs, but also slight hints of smoke and tared rope. The flavor is sweet with herbs being the main note, but also hints of smoke, leading to a dry end. The mouthfeel is quite carbonated - too much for my liking, and the body is thin inspite of the alcohol content.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear orangey brown with a delicate, off-white head with good retention. Aroma of roasted malt and a wee whiff of smoke. Considering the alcohol, the body is surprisingly thin, almost watery. Flavours of roasted malt, some sweetness and then again a slightly smoked accent. Weak, hoppy finish. A rather odd hybrid between a Bock and a Porter - well, I suppose calling it a Brown Ale will do. 060506

50 cL bottle. Pours deep orange to brown with a diminished off-white head. Malty aroma with a mild caramel and breadish note. Flavour is medium sweet, solid caramel note and a heavy breadish and roasted note. Finish holds a solid bitterness and a nicely roasted caramel malt flavour. Slight metallic edge too.

Bottled (as Ebeltoft 1789). Clear nut brown, creamy head. Hazelnut aroma. Sweet and medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Some perfume and lots of caramel before a growinggrassy bitterness takes over. Harmonious.

Draught at Cokney Pub, Århus
Amber color; creamy head. Monodimensional caramel beer, but given that it has a good body strength and enough sweetness and a good bitterness level, it comes out quite pleasant. It also has a cereals touch here and there.
