Commercial Description:

English: Fur Steam Beer is a bottom fermented beer of the Steam Beer style. Clear beer with a strong amber golden color. Full creme colored head with a long durability which leaves nice lacings on the glass. Warm and vinous aroma with a nice experience of hops. Strong and warm flavor of dark malt with its full harmonious finish from the hops. Fur Steam Beer is brewed with 3 different types of malt where caramel malt is one of them. Fur Steam Beer contains both classic bitter and aroma hops which gives its nice aroma and well balanced finish to the flavor. Fur Steam Beer gets a very gentle filtration before bottling and pasteurising which is one of the important prerequisites to keep the nice and complex aroma pattern in the beer.

Bottle. Clear, golden body, with a beige head. Caramel, malty and fruityness in the aroma. The flavor has malt and caramel as well, but maybe not that much caramel. There’s also some roastiness and fruityness. Medium body and a sweet finish. I really like it, could easily down more of this, but the second rating ended up with 6-3-6-3-13--3.1 and I leave the original numbers untouched. (070809)

Draught at Københavnske Øldage. Golden to copper pour with a beige head. Malty, a bit sweetish nose with some hops. The flavor is a nice blend of malt and hops, with some sweetness as well. Medium body. A quite nice one from Fur. (070512)

Meget drikkevenlig

Draught at Københavnske Øldage. Clear amber. Fruity toffeish nose. Sweet and caramelly with medium body and pleasantly soft mouthfeel. Vague notes of ash. Low-medium bitterness. Well balanced and very drinkable.

A Mes rate: Draught at Ølfestival 2007. Sweet aroma with caramel and erm... yeah... Tea brown colour. Sweet and very basic slightly fruity flavour. Yup it’s a steam beer, but not a fantastic one.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a longlasting small off-white head. Fruity malty and slightly hoppy alcoholic aroma. Sweet malty flavor with some fruity hints. Also some hints of caramel. Dry malty warming finish.

Bottle at Frederikshavn øl- og vinfestival 07. Peppery, on the brink of strong lager. Rough bonbon aroma. The flavour is dominated by bonbon/caramel with rough bitterness. Some alcohol notes.

50 cl bottle. Amber clear colour with a nice white head. Light aroma of little maltness and little hops. Sweet flavour of caramel, malt and little hoppy. A very light and "clean" beer, but ends up little alcoholic at the end.

Dark amber with a nice, creamy head. The aroma is rather discrete, but I do find some sweetish notes of malt. The flavour is sweetish with notes of malt, a hint of fruit and a nice, light citrus bitterness in the finish. 1881
