Sweet dark malty, slightly toasted aroma with caramel, light fruity notes of dried fruits and a shy but noticeable herbal hoppy touch. Sweet flavour, with a light roasted bitterness, medium to full bodied on a smooth carbonation. Moderately roasted malty taste with caramel, dried fruits (plums); sweet and soft roast-bitter finish. Pleasant Doppelbock, well-rounded with a restrained alcoholic smell and taste. pivnizub (5086), Bochum, Porúří, Germany

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Mar 11, 2007 Small beige head over red-foxy beer. Caramel, sweet, and very little else; offputting. Sweet, roasted and a finish which is wryer, I’d nealy say hoppy. But not very good hops, I fear. Slick, sticky and medium bodied. Unconvincing is putting it nicely. MiP (9157), Sønderborg, Denmark

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 8, 2006 A hazy dark amber beer with a small amber head. The aroma is dusty combined with notes of caramel and light notes of alcohol and fruit. The flavor is sweet alcohol with strong notes of caramel as well as hints of metal, probably stemming from the alcohol. Papsoe (15107), Frederiksberg, Denmark
