Commercial Description:
My goal in building the recipe for Fallen Apple was to create a seasonal specialty that was in and of itself a celebration. I start with fresh-pressed cider from early harvest apples we get from Kickapoo Orchards in Gays Mills. Fermentation leaves the cider tart and champagne-like. I then brew a cream ale designed to put some sweetness and body back into the beer, which rounds out the sour apple notes. This combination of ethereal apple flavor grounded in an “everyman’s” beer makes for a festive and potent brew.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with CaptainCougar (thanks!). Poured a lightly hazy and orange color wtih an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of apples, grainy, and a little musty. Tastes of pretty much the same. The apples where there, but not really in a good way. Thin body on the highly carbonated side.

On tap, Muddy Pig. Pours a reddish-golden color, very minimal carbonation, no head to speak of. Flavor is light dry apple, somewhat ciderish, more akin to a chardonnay. Dry mild lingering tart apple finish. Light bodied, fizzy on the palate. Overall relatively decent, something different than the norm. I could see someone who doesn’t like beer enjoying this.

Pours a cloudy copper brown with white head. Aroma is tart citrus/green apple. Flavor is similar to a chardonnay. Fruity, tart apple, citrus. Body is light with medium carbonation.

Smells like apple juice. Slightly sour apple taste, granny smith perhaps? Smooth, not overally sweet, quite drinkable for a apple beer. Good stuff.

Aroma: Apples with a lager-like grassy edge. Appearance: Pale amber-orange with abundant white head. Nice lace and effervescence. Flavors: Golden apples, tartness is there but rounded by worty malts, vanilla. Yummy, although the tart and the grassy hops aren’t well harmonized. Palate: Decidedly dry, just barely puckering. A creamy smoothness in the finish.

A pleasent, unique apple brew that pours a straw yellow body accompanied by a small white head. Carries plenty of fresh fruit aromas and flavors. Suprisingly silky texture with a nice crisp soft hop finish.
