Commercial Description:
My goal in building the recipe for Fallen Apple was to create a seasonal specialty that was in and of itself a celebration. I start with fresh-pressed cider from early harvest apples we get from Kickapoo Orchards in Gays Mills. Fermentation leaves the cider tart and champagne-like. I then brew a cream ale designed to put some sweetness and body back into the beer, which rounds out the sour apple notes. This combination of ethereal apple flavor grounded in an “everyman’s” beer makes for a festive and potent brew.

Pours golden clear with off white head. Floral hop and apple aroma with a bit of fresh toast. Taste to match with more apple.

Bottle courtesy of my wonderful boyfriend. Pours a sparkling clear amber colour with a frothy white head. Aroma of vinegar, apples, grains and light spice. Flavour of tart apples, corn, vinegar, yeast and maybe a hint of malt. Very tart and bitter.

12oz. Bottle: Sweet aroma of light apples and grains. Poured amber/apple juice in color with a small, off-white head that diminished quickly but lasted around the edges only. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of apples, apple juice, and slight bready malt. Light to medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Apple juice and grain finish is slightly dry.

12 oz bottle purchased at Blue Max in Burnsville, Minnesota. Pour is clear golden orange with a few visible carbonation bubbles and a frothy one inch white head that falls fast. Aroma of grainy malt, corn and brightly sweet apple juice. Taste is exactly the nose; grainy malt, corn huskiness and sweet apple juice. Palate ios thin to medium, coats the mouth a bit, lingering corny apple taste. This tastes exactly like a cream ale with apple juice - just as the label says so extra point for that. However, I don’t think I am wild about this marriage.

apple juice colour with a medium white head. aroma is light apple and earthy biscuity malt. lively effervescent mouthfeel. Good tart apple flavour. The medium sweetness of the cream ale backs the apple and does help with body.

Thanks to Ricky Bobby’s owner for the taste. Somehow, I remember your dog’s name, but not yours. Pours a light grain color. Aroma is strong grain and sweet apple concentrate. Flavor is more of the same. Strong grain and euro hops with a concentrated apple juice flavor added. Fun beer to try. Thanks!

Nice reddish copper pour with no head and little carbonation. Very cider like. Tart apple, cider, and a little spice aroma. Smooth light malt and apple taste, not too much apple, a good balance. Decent.
