DavidP (1713), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA May 6, 2008 Bottle. At first it smells like the canned Budweiser my grandpa drank. After a bit it smells more like what it is, a cream ale with cider thrown in. I’ll call this an apple shandy made with nicely tart apple juice. However the juice tastes like the stuff from concentrate not fresh cider.
WisconsinBeer (344), St Paul, Minnesota, USA Oct 4, 2008 On tap, Muddy Pig. Pours a reddish-golden color, very minimal carbonation, no head to speak of. Flavor is light dry apple, somewhat ciderish, more akin to a chardonnay. Dry mild lingering tart apple finish. Light bodied, fizzy on the palate. Overall relatively decent, something different than the norm. I could see someone who doesn’t like beer enjoying this. Tripplebrew (285), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Oct 1, 2008 Pours a cloudy copper brown with white head. Aroma is tart citrus/green apple. Flavor is similar to a chardonnay. Fruity, tart apple, citrus. Body is light with medium carbonation. incutrav (521), Woodbury, Minnesota, USA Sep 29, 2008 Smells like apple juice. Slightly sour apple taste, granny smith perhaps? Smooth, not overally sweet, quite drinkable for a apple beer. Good stuff. noncaloric (111), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Sep 20, 2008 Aroma: Apples with a lager-like grassy edge. Appearance: Pale amber-orange with abundant white head. Nice lace and effervescence. Flavors: Golden apples, tartness is there but rounded by worty malts, vanilla. Yummy, although the tart and the grassy hops aren’t well harmonized. Palate: Decidedly dry, just barely puckering. A creamy smoothness in the finish. phishpond417 (1459), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jun 11, 2008 A pleasent, unique apple brew that pours a straw yellow body accompanied by a small white head. Carries plenty of fresh fruit aromas and flavors. Suprisingly silky texture with a nice crisp soft hop finish.
