Commercial Description:
Black, cracked, stuffed in a sack, boiled and cold-infused. We’ve braided the assertive presence of hops with the stimulating character of fresh black pepper. Not so much a kick in the shorts as a hop lover’s wake-up call, our Knot Stock might just become your go-to pale.

Pour is hazed deep amber with a thin sticky tan head...smell is spicy and hoppy....definite grapefruit and black pepper and pine...taste is lightly sweet at first, then very herbal...pepper is defintely apparent along with a resiny citric hop bitterness..interesting!

Pours a cloudy orange amber with a medium sized beige head. Aroma is peppery with hints of honey lemon tea and citrus. Taste is peppery with a honey lemon flavor and hints of barley and bread.

12oz bottle from theisti. Pretty beer in the glass - deep orange with a thick head and nice lacing. Nose is really interesting - malty at first, with the promised pepper lurking in the background. Flavor is a little weird - intiially there’s a nice hop bite, fading quickly to a minty/toothpaste quality backed by peppercorns. It was intriguing, though not really my thing. THe mint/herbal rush got to be a little much for my palate as it warmed. THanks for an interesting one, Tim.

Draft at the OF. Orange-brown color, nice thick off-white head. Medium-bodied, smooth middle-toned malt nuances. Light peppery finish that lingers a bit. Relatively low CO2, might just be an older keg though. Easy drinking, a touch dry. Not as much hop character as advertised, a tad too mild for me. More of a pepper-lager than a pepper-APA.

Bottle. Pours a copper body with an off white head. Very very spicy loads of pepper some lighter sweet malt but just dominated by this spicy pepper body. I liked it, not sure how many of em you could drink but this could pair really well with seafood or steak. Nice.

12 oz bottle from Capones. Poured a great looking slightly hazed orange body sitting underneath a large foamy off white head that had some nice lasting power and left lots of lace. Aroma was a combination of sweet malts, caramel and toffee mostly, and black pepper...slight vegtable as well. Medium body with average carbonation and a peppery finish. Flavor has some distinc vegtable soup notes, pepper, wet bread and caramel. I’ve had some really interesting beers brewed with pepper and I must say this one is also interesting, however it’s interesting in a not so good way.

12oz bottle. Interesting beer. Pours cloudy dark amber with a moderate offwhite head and some lace. Smells malty and plain, sweet with some spicy hops. Tastes sweet and malty with slight hop and a lingering pepper flavor and spicy finish. Medium body, subdued carbonation.

I enjoyed this beer while feasting on Craft Ale House’s delicious mussels. It was a spicy and peppery compliment to the spicy mussels. They worked perfectly together. The aroma features a hoppy and peppery nose, and the flavors deliver on the same. The body was a little too thick, though. That was really my only complaint with this beer.
