Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular.
Pale golden beer using First Gold hops with a fruity malty aroma. Delicate citrus hop flavours are balanced by fruit. Hoppy bitterness grows in the aftertaste.

Aroma started so sulphur i had to vent it for an extra few days to get rid of it. Floural otherwise. Taste is bitter and malty, some caramel with metallic hints.

It was a nasty one, really like pumpkin soup, I really did not find the good stuff in there, it was pale yellow and booring.

Cask@Reading BF. Rubber in the aroma. Grainy and sweet to start, dry-ish towards the end, and quite thin. Very boring indeed.

Gravity at Reading Beer Fest, with Kook, Duff, Chris_o and Joeh. Golden, Lager influenced Bitter. A tinge of sour malt, typical of a boring beer, which this is. Bad, sweet.

This beer is styled as a golden summer ale but I think something must have gone wrong in the brew or the conditioning. First Gold can certainly produce zesty fresh quaffing beers. This one is dry but dull. And, as Kook points out, there’s a definite whiff of sulphur. Although that can be perfectly acceptable in some styles, its not really what you want in a refresher. Golden, but not zippy. Re-rate if the opportunity arises. Cask (gravity dispense), Reading Beer Festival 2005.

Sulphuric aroma. Gold in colour with a small white head. Sweet bland malts with a sulphuric aftertaste. Bland and boring.
