fiulijn (5860), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Feb 7, 2008 Courtesy of Philippe (Bov) Brown color. Strange Ale, with a lot of caramel and a strange vegetables touch; the aroma is also lightly fruity; good malt flavor, medium sweet; there is a touch of sweet liquorice at the end; a Belgian yeast marks it. Very bitter. A bit chaotic and strange, but not bad.
It seems again that the G48 beers are better tasted warm… Bov (4623), Bienne, Switzerland Dec 20, 2007 courtesy of Yvonne and Peter Dürsteler - hazy dark brown colour with a fine and persistant beige foam; the aroma is dominated by the malts but some flowery hoppy tones show up behind; caramel and anise, gently chocolatey; robust and regular carbonation; the sweetness is balanced by an initial tartness and a fair bitterness; the finish shows more proud bitterness along with long malty, chocolatey and biscuity notes; quite dry - very good
