Koelschtrinker. Pours clear and golden orange with a white head. Light spiced and hoppy bitter aroma. Flavour is metallic, and spiced. Ends light hoppy and dry. Tastes lightly like a Kölsch but much too powerless. One might add that before about 2004, 1396 was a more powerful (6,0%) beer with a distinct taste which was rather good. The flavour is maize like and somewhat metallic.
