Aug 6, 2008 Bottle. Sweet smell of malt, caramel and a strange hint of cherries. Small frothy white head, fast and fully diminishing; red clear body. Moderate sweet taste, short duration. Light body, dry texture, soft carbonation.

Koelschtrinker. Pours clear and golden orange with a white head. Light spiced and hoppy bitter aroma. Flavour is metallic, and spiced. Ends light hoppy and dry.

Dec 1, 2007 Bottle. Clear, dark golden colour. Low carbonation. Slightly yellow head. Tastes lightly like a Kölsch but much too powerless. One might add that before about 2004, 1396 was a more powerful (6,0%) beer with a distinct taste which was rather good. This here isnt anymore.

Aug 7, 2007 Bottled. Thanx oh6gdx. Clear golden in colour, minor white head. The aroma is maize like with a skunkyness to it. The flavour is maize like and somewhat metallic.
